Service Description

Make your video game come to life by building a bee, sword, or any other object from Minecraft out of wood blocks that you will paint! Practice color theory, fine motor skills, and social skills by working together and sharing ideas with your fellow players. Students will select on image from mine craft, and plan out how many blocks they will need. After creating the shape, they will mix colors focusing on the concept of “value” by making the paint lighter and darker. Students will paint each cube and when they are dry, will glue them together. When the glue is dry, they will seal the paint with a protective coating. For a Minecraft Pixel Art Enrichment Class (ages 6-10), the learning outcomes could focus on creativity, spatial awareness, problem-solving, and collaboration. Here are some specific outcomes: - Creativity and Self-Expression: Kids will design and build their own pixel art, fostering creativity and giving them a platform to express their ideas visually using the Minecraft environment. -Spatial Awareness and Geometry: They will learn about grids and spatial relationships as they align blocks to create pixelated designs, enhancing their understanding of geometry, patterns, and scaling. -Problem-Solving Skills: Students will face challenges such as fitting designs within space constraints, using resources efficiently, and translating 2D ideas into 3D environments, which will encourage logical thinking and planning. -Fine Motor Skills and Precision: Building pixel art requires careful placement of blocks, which helps refine fine motor skills, precision, and hand-eye coordination. -Collaboration and Teamwork: Some projects may involve working in teams to build larger, more complex pixel art, encouraging cooperation, communication, and sharing of ideas. -Goal Setting and Project Management: Kids will set goals for their pixel art and manage time effectively to complete their designs within the given session.
